Sam-Gibbs-Media

Hi. Welcome to my desk.

I am a project leader, editor, and writer based both in Canberra, Australia and Cambridge, UK.

Some communications contracts I’ve enjoyed have included:

– Communications lead for Geoscience Australia’s Digital Earth Australia program
– Editorial Consultant to The Atlantic Philanthropies in Australia project, The Atlantic Philanthropies
– Change Management and communications support for the Commonwealth Bank of Australia
– Change Management for Transport NSW
– Editorial Content Specialist for health insurer, HCF
– Audience Liaison, Audience and Consumer Affairs, Australian Broadcasting Commission
– Communications Consultant and user documentation editor for software specialists, Third Light
– Launch Editor of online philanthropy magazine, Generosity
– Communications for arts and creativity institute, The Banff Centre
– Editor of custom travel magazine, OUTthere
– Deputy Editor of adventure travel brand, Outdoor Australia
– Fitness & Walking Editor of health and wellness title, Prevention Australia
– Road Warrior and On-Stage Presenter for the Ocean Film Festival World Tour, Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour, and Gutsy Girls Adventure Film Festival.

My personal passions often overlap with my professional contracts, so you’ll find me at bush regeneration and rewilding projects, kayaking, running to work, or building project leadership and urban forestry skills. I care deeply about connection to landscape, am trained in sustainable leadership and outdoor education, and have committed my remaining years to my friendship with trees.

I am a typical INFP: Values-driven, dedicated, with big-picture vision. I’m intuitive about brands and teams, and have a gift for creative problem-solving. Most people comment on my energy.

My greatest skill is: Listening. My greatest weakness is: Tea. Please contact me for a cuppa.
